Honda and More Stringent Fuel Economy Regulations

The goal of proposed legislation aimed at increasing vehicle fuel economy has dropped slightly from a fleet-wide average of 56.2 mpg CAFE by 2025 to 54.5 mpg CAFE, by 2025. Honda Tops in Green Cars

Honda profits jumped to huge numbers during 2011, but the Japanese auto maker has received another great honor - Greenest Auto Maker. This isn't the first time Honda received the award, in fact this is the 5th straight year Honda has become Greenest Automaker. Honda Fuel Efficient Car History

Honda achieved another award for their contributions to the green car industry. After decades of producing solid, environmentally friendly automobiles to customers world wide - the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has noticed Honda for having the highest amount of fuel efficient cars.

It all began in the 1970's. Honda produced a line of 2-cylinder engines to help cope with the global fuel shortage crisis. Those engines were rated at more than 50 mpg.

Honda 5 Time Green Car Winner

Honda has been awarded the Greenest Automobile award not once, not twice, not even three times. The Japanese auto maker was the recipient of this prestigious green award Five Years in a row. The award was given thanks to the company's stride to lower greenhouse emissions and minimize smog output.

Its average score from the Clean Vehicles Program suggests Honda's fleet is 14% cleaner than the average scores from the competition.
